Synopsis
Trading Paradise presents itself as the chronicle of an announced scandal. After Nazi gold and banking secrecy, the practices of Swiss-based commodities companies will be responsible for the next damage to the country’s reputation. Large parts of the global trade in various resources are channelled through companies based in Zug or Geneva. The companies do not operate transparently, pay hardly any taxes and rarely take responsibility for the environmental damage they cause. The film shows how committed employees of non-governmental organisations are working to improve the transparency and liability of these commodity giants.
